💙 Meet Louie 💙
Louie is a handsome 2-year-old, 75-pound Lab/Pit mix who is desperately hoping someone will see past his fear and give him the chance he deserves. 🥺🐾
Louie was surrendered by his owner, who said that he didn’t get along with their other dog, who happened to be his father. They also shared that Louie was primarily an outside dog, was a good watchdog, and was okay with kids.
But here at the shelter, we’re seeing a very different side of this big boy. Louie is incredibly sweet, gentle, and scared. The noise, activity, and chaos of the shelter have been completely overwhelming for him.
When Louie first arrived, he was so frightened that he had to be carried out of the kennel area to go outside. While in his kennel, he would shake uncontrollably. 💔 Thankfully, he is making small steps forward. He no longer needs to be carried outside, but it’s clear that the shelter is still a very scary place for him.
And despite his fear, Louie has been friendly toward other dogs at the shelter, which gives us hope that with proper introductions, he may have canine friends in his future. ❤️
We think Louie could really blossom in a quiet foster home where he can decompress, feel safe, and learn what it’s like to be part of a family again. He doesn’t need someone to expect him to be brave overnight. He needs someone willing to give him patience, reassurance, and time.
Poor Louie is just trying to figure out what happened to his world. 💔
Behind those scared eyes is a super sweet boy who deserves a soft place to land. We would love nothing more than to see Louie leave the shelter and finally exhale.
